PGx is the study of how your genetics can influence the way you respond to some medications. People can vary in how slow or fast they break down and clear medications from their body, and this can influence how well a medicine works or the risk of side effects for you.
Although not all medications are affected this way, a PGx test can provide information on a range of commonly prescribed medications, and indicate to your doctor whether there is anything additional they should be aware of if prescribing them. PGx MH - This test provides your doctor with useful information on how your body processes certain antidepressants, antipsychotics and more that are relevant for your mental health. This may help with prescribing choices for you.
PGx Pain - This test can help identify how you may respond to certain medications prescribed for pain. This may help your doctor decide what medications are best for you.
PGx Multi - This test is the most comprehensive available and combines results for both mental health and pain as well as testing for how you may respond to certain cardiovascular and gastrointestinal medications.
